Week 1

Now that my first week in Seville has almost passed, it's time to review on what has been going on so far. The work in the school I do is very much helping me to improve my abilities in the spanish language. I fulfill many kinds of tasks. Often I'm asked to translate texts between english, german and spanish, to help prepare a lession in german, or do administrative work. I appreciate that the teachers treat me as an actual member of the staff and therefore I feel very comfortable working there. Many of the little kids between 5 and 12 that are being thought are just as excited as I am about my appearances. I've spend approximelty 6 hours yet, standing in classrooms and anwsering questions.
My way home takes about 20 minutes by foot, and after I got lost two times in the labyrinth of downtown-Seville streets, I now know my way to work and back. After I return home, I have lunch with my host family and we discuss what we have done so far. Then, the most of the days, my host brother Andres shows my around the city and we visit sights, cafes and bars.
Today, for example, we have been to El Alcazar, which is a castle with a beautiful garden inside, build by the muslims many centuries ago.
I have already gotten to know many sight in Seville, and I think I do begin to get to know the hidden carisma, every beautiful city contains.
I'm now looking forward for week 2 to come: It will be the week of Semana Santa!
